Kansas City Monarchs 1942 Road Jersey - Grey

Kansas City Monarchs 1942 Road Jersey - Grey

Arguably the Negro National League’s all-time greatest team, the Kansas City Monarchs won five consecutive NNL championships during the 1920s and went on to claim six more titles between 1937 and 1950 as members of the NAL. Monarch greats included Satchel Paige, Buck O’Neil, and even Jackie Robinson played for the 1945 squad before being scouted by Branch Rickey of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

This Road Jersey is an authentic reproduction from the Monarch’s 1942 season and is cut from vintage travel grey wool flannel and detailed with navy sleeves with the original KC heart patch. Finished with felt lettering across the chest and a felt #5, worn by Jackie Robinson during his time with the Monarchs.

This piece from Ebbets Field is a part of our collection celebrating the history of the Negro League and its impact over the last 101 years. All proceeds from this collection will go to the NAACP'S Legal Defense & Education Fund & The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
